Cemindia Projects receives Rs 1.24 crore tax and penalty demand order from Ahmedabad GST authorities

Cemindia Projects Limited, formerly ITD Cementation India Limited, has received a demand order from the Assistant Commissioner, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, under Section 74 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, related to a mismatch between Input Tax Credit (ITC) claimed and reflected on the GST portal for fiscal year 2020-21. The company has been levied a total tax and penalty of Rs 1.24 Crore, comprising Rs 57.03 Lakhs in IGST and Rs 33.67 Lakhs each in CGST and SGST. Cemindia Projects intends to file an appeal against the order and stated it does not anticipate a material financial impact. The order was received on August 7, 2026.
